January 5, 2025
I do a lot of repairs of old rosaries and I also accept donations of rosaries that are beyond repair (which I use for parts). In January 2025, I grabbed an old crucifix from my supply and before I reused it, I noticed that it's engraved on the back. So, rather than putting it on someone else's rosary, I'd like to find this person's family and maybe re-make it into a special rosary for them. I receive donations from all over the country so I don't know where this came from.
The engraving has the name "BM BUKOWSKI" with the date "3-28-1943". Often that's a date of a First Communion or Confirmation or some special day. Given that it's over 80 years ago, this person may no longer be alive. I don't know if this person is male or female, but since the rosary beads are black, there's a good chance he's male. I also don't know where they are from geographically. And finally, I realize that perhaps the person who might find this crucifix most meaningful might actually be the same person who sent it to me to be reused. Nonetheless, I still want to find them. I just can't see this crucifix leaving the family.
If you might know someone in the family, please let me know. Also please send the link to this page to anyone who you think might be able to help.
