My Uncle Bob asked me to make this rosary, featuring a dog tag from his uncle (my great uncle), Cpl. Charles M. Olson. Charles served in the U.S. Army, 31st Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division. He was killed in action on May 22, 1951 in Korea. He was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation, and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal. I used red, white, and blue beads for three of the decades, and army green colored beads for two of the decades. The centerpiece is inscribed, "Holy Family Pray for Us". The cross is a plain metal cross. I hung a replica of Uncle Charles' dog tag from the centerpiece.

Charles' name is included in the Korean War Memorial Honor Roll in Washington, D.C.
