This was a cool project. Fr. Jordan, chaplain at Notre Dame Academy, asked if I could make a bunch of these rosaries for some faithful followers at the school. While I've made a few rosaries for someone in the past, making many more can be challenging simply because it takes me a while. So, the design was heavily based on Rosary #43 which I made last year. The Hail Mary beads are an interesting mix of blue and green faceted glass beads (all 8mm), which are the school's current colors. I made the Our Father beads a gold/topaz color (also 8mm), as a nod to the colors of the school when I attended in the late 1970s (navy blue and gold). The centerpiece is the Miraculous Medal and each crucifix is a variation of a slightly ornate crucifix in base metal. I hung a fleur-de-lis charm from the centerpiece, as it is an image often used by the Norbertine fathers. The chain and eye pins are all silver-plated. These ended up taking me several months to complete, but I loved every minute of it. Perhaps I'll make more in the future. ?
