Rosary #43 • Thu, Jan 6, 2022

I made this rosary as a reminder of my first high school. My freshman year, I attended Our Lady of Premontre High School in Green Bay, an all boys Catholic school. Over the decades, it merged with a couple of other schools, became coed, and is now Notre Dame Academy. The Hail Mary beads are an interesting mix of blue and green faceted glass beads, which are the school's current colors. But I made the Our Father beads a gold/topaz color, as a nod to the colors of the school when I attended in the late 1970s (navy blue and gold). The school has always been operated by the Norbertine Fathers, so I used a pewter centerpiece which says "Saint Norbert Pray For Us", and I hung a fleur-de-lis as well, a symbol often used by the Norbertines. The crucifix is simple metal made in Italy. The chain and links are all silver-plated steel.
